Admission

As the Smicha/ M.H.L. program is accelerated, a sound background is essential for the student’s progress.
Applicants must submit the following documents:

  1. Transcripts of all previous academic work.
  2. A letter of recommendation for the mashgiach of the last yeshiva attended addressing the student’s character. Alternatively, a letter from a rabbi who knows the prospective student well may be submitted.
  3. A letter of recommendation from one of the candidate’s teachers addressing his academic preparation for CYS-CJS’s accelerated program. The letter should include an evaluation of the prospective student’s facility in Hebrew and Aramaic.
Applications will be accepted at any time; however, students must be prepared to start the academic year in late August.
Admissions standards will be applied equitable. All applications will be evaluated in writing and these evaluations will be maintained in out files. The Shul building is accessible and accommodations for those with disabilities will be undertaken.
Students will be admitted or rejected on the basis of their transcripts of previous work, their application letter, demonstration of needed language competencies, as well as the reference letters attesting to both academic and personal qualities.
